DoD NAF Health Benefits Programs

Health Care Reform

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (also known as Health Care Reform) may impact your health coverage and benefits in a number of ways. You are encouraged to visit the Health Care Reform resource page often to learn how your benefits may be changing as a result.

This website contains all the information you need to learn about your Health Benefits Program. Be sure to review this information carefully to learn about changes and updates to your plan.

Open Enrollment for eligible employees begins on November 10 and ends on December 5, 2014. During this time, you may make changes to your medical and dental plan elections which will be effective January 1, 2015. If you are not making any changes, you do not need to complete the enrollment process.

If you are a new hire or newly eligible for benefits, you need to complete your enrollment for health insurance coverage within 31 days of your start/eligibility date. Failure to enroll within the 31-day window will mean you have to wait until the next Open Enrollment period to be eligible to enroll.
