Good dental health is important
Good oral health is part of your overall health and well-being. In fact, your mouth can be a window to many general health problems. Visiting your dentist for preventive care is a great place to start. The DoD NAF Health Benefits program offers two Aetna dental plans available to eligible employees:
- The Passive PPO Dental Plan is available to eligible employees who have elected to enroll in the Choice POS II medical plan or an HMO medical plan that does not offer dental coverage.
- The Stand Alone Dental Plan is available to eligible employees who do not enroll in a NAF employer sponsored medical plan and want dental coverage only. It is not available to retirees.
Eligible employees may enroll in dental benefits during open enrollment in November. However, if you have a qualified family status change during the year, you may make changes to your coverage elections. Please contact your Human Resources Office for information and instructions.
